Serbia
is also known for manufacturing blackberries, usually free of brier.
Warm regions of central
Serbia, particularly those with good sedimentation are ideal for blackberry
cultivation. The most prominent regions are Zupa and Macva. Most
dominant sorts are “Torn free, black satin” and recently “Cacanska
bestrna”. “Cacanska bestrna” with its qualities belongs to
the best raspberry sorts. It ripens from the middle of July till the end of August. Fruits
are large and weights about 8-9 grams, cylindrical shaped with shiny
black coloring. Fruit tastes sourish, with appetizing aroma and sapidity. It contents about 9-11% brix saccharn and is highly productively sort.
