Black currant
is not much present in Serbia
regardless agro-conditions of region. Fruit of blackcurrant is rich with
components that brings health to organism: phosphorous magnesium,
iodine etc. It is also rich with vitamin C and contains 150 - 200 mg per
100 grams of fruit. The most productive sorts are “
Ben Lomond
”, “Titania”, “Tsema”, ”Ben Sarek”. “
Ben Lomond
” is an English sort that ripens at the beginning of
July. It is persistent on frost and has circular black fruit,
weights up to 1 gram, with about 7-8 of them per cluster and mostly is
harvested by machinery.
