Raspberry
Raspberry is called “red gold” in Serbia and is introduced as the most dominant fruit in region. Regarding its
quality and processing technology Serbian raspberry winnow the
competition. Due to specific regional altitude it is cultivated
almost free of any possibly agro-protective treatment. The most dominant
sort is the “Willemette”, while others including the “Miker” are less
widespread. “Willemette” ripens in western from the beginning of June till the end of July. Fruit weights about 4 grams,
conical shaped, strong claret color with sourish taste and contains
about 11-12 % brix saccharn. Advantageously persistent and adaptable for
freezing as well as for transportation. “Miker” is a quite similar to “Wilemette” except
it is more shapely, weights 3-4 grams, claret color.
